Arcade code giveaway!
I’ve been writing about other site’s giveaways for a while now so I figured it was time to have one of my own.
If you’d like a chance to win a download code for Rez HD or Tron from Xbox LIVE Arcade, just drop a comment in this post telling us about your favorite Arcade game and you’re entered! Two winners will be chosen at random to receive a code for one of the games. Please be sure to include your gamertag in your comment as winners will receive their code through an Xbox LIVE message.
The contest is open now and ends Wednesday March 5th at 11:59 p.m. Eastern so get posting!
* My thanks to the great folks who make up the Xbox 360 team at Microsoft for providing the codes to make this giveaway possible.
If we go by the amount of money spent, then my fav arcade game of all time was “The Simpsons”. I spent about thirty bucks in that machine in one day, but i beat the game! 😀
Oh how I wish I could have that money back now! lol 🙂
p.s. Thanks for the great contest! I LOVE Rez and am dying to check it out on the 360 (and my bigger tv!) 😀

I think the best arcade game would probably be Geometry wars, always hard but can always get a few more points.

Still Castlevania: SOTN!

Until recently, it was the awesome Pac-Man CE. But now it’s been usurped by Poker Smash. I’ve loved all sorts of different versions of Panel de Pon–from Tetris Attack to Planet Puzzle League–but this one adds so many new compelling elements (poker face cards for different combos, slow-mo, bombs) that it really feels like a true sequel. Well done, Void Star!
Gamertag: PKBronson (Number 10 or so on the Poker Smash leaderboards last I checked–sorry, it’s the only game I can brag about)

SWOS was so much fun in the old times.
XBLA gave it back to me and the fun is still here. With my Hori Arcade Stick, it’s a real pleasure.

The game that just keeps on popping back is Marble Blast Ultra. Every stage is full of new tricks that are fun to figure out. Its the only Live Arcade game that really grabbed the rest of my friends, to the point that anytime games are brought up, someone ends up making an impression of the sound effects. “Super Jump!”

My favorite arcade game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Its a great beat em up and i love old school retro games. Reminded me of the many hours i spent playing on it at a local Pizza Hut 🙂

Geometry Wars without a doubt. It was the 360’s killer app in that first year. I still play it regularly.

TMNT Arcade – Such terrific retro arcade goodness, particularly with the Hori arcade stick.

I would say the best XBLA game at the moment must be N+. Been a long time since ive had so much fun (and frustration) in a console game. Before N+ it was Pacman CE.
GT: Tondo
Comment by Tondo | March 5, 2008 |
Favorite XBLA game so far is Bomberman Live. Great time playing with friends on that one.
Pacman CE is a close second though. One of the best updates to a classic I’ve ever played.

Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite Arcade game. Nothing beats going through that game co-op. XBLA needs more brawlers!
GT: CommonSense43

My favourite arcade game aside from Street Fighter 2 HF, would be NBA Jam TE. Back then, it had realistic graphics and it was THE basketball game to get.
Comment by John | March 5, 2008 |
My favorite arcade game is probably Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. It’s great fun and a good way to kill half an hour while waiting for something.

Pac-Man C.E. was one of reasons I wanted a 360 in the first place, a brilliant reinvention of a true classic.

Going to say Undertow. Fun exciting game that is also strangely relaxing at the same time. A ton of fun co-op too.

I’d have to go with N+. Simple, fun, but frustrating at times. The best part is that the frustrating part of the game doesn’t bring it down at all, it just makes me want to push harder to beat the level to complete the current episode I’m on.
GT is SpeedRazors, good luck everyone!

Geometry Wars still holds the Arcade game title for the most hours of my life stolen.

Oddly enough it’s Root Beer Tapper. Sure it’s not the “best” game on XBLA, but it smacks of nostalgia for me.

Well, it just turns out I downloaded the demo for Rez HD today. I played a demo for it on the PS2 a couple years ago and really liked it. Too bad it ran in the $50 region on ebay. It’d be great if i won this and didn’t have to buy it. ( :

please excuse my english, it is not the greatest…
Frogger is my favorite underhand, and I was by a hair’s breadth wondering if anyone here liked to have a good time frogger.
In case you want a little intelligence on the feign, pore over this:
The deception of Frogger brings underwrite memories suited for people in their forties. The quarry was such a classic it was rhythmical on an event of Seinfeld. Who could forget George Costanza wheeling the Frogger across the drive vexing to secure his high business, moving in and effectively of see trade decent like Frogger himself, exclusive to from the ready smashed up on a Mac truck. Now Frogger has become a favorite of people of all ages again thanks to the iPhone.
Developed beside Konami Digital Entertainment, who are also known for the sake of games like Shushed Hill and Pro Progression Soccer, Frogger is a game produced in 1981 that tons first started playing in the arcade and then in their homes. It has remained popular and you when one pleases pronounce Frogger games on individual websites throughout the internet even today. The Frogger iPhone app means you can now play wherever you go.
The game was at first wealthy to be called “Highway Crossing Frog” but Sega didn’t manipulate like this superiority upheld the temperament of the round and undeniable to coppers the name to Frogger. Now the name of this trick has easy on the eyes much become a household name. There is not multifarious people you take flight into that can candidly mean they organize on no account heard of Frogger.
Frogger as an iPhone application is a brilliant point and apparently a cute trendy one. Frogger ranks as the legions 8 most downloaded app in the iPhone app store. There have been innumerable reviewers who stated that the eminence of the iPhone app was notable and gameplay compares to the original. While the graphics give every indication to be improved some reviewers still have all the hallmarks to crave the potentiality of being qualified to transmute the game television to the 1980’s retro look of the original Frogger.
From the 1980’s until for the time being, Frogger seems to get stood the try out of time again in the video occupation entertainment industry. From the arcade to the playstation, and in this day from the computer to the iPhone who yet thought that a bit untrained frog jumping in and visible of shipping would quiet be universal a place of a century later. Contemporarily thanks to the Apple iPhone you can play this deathless arcade game wherever you are and wherever you go.
