It’s all about respect

Curious if anyone else thought Infinity Ward dissed Treyarch last night when they refered to Call of Duty 4 as coming “hot off the heels of Call of Duty 2”.

I probably wouldn’t have even paid attention to the statement except for the fact that Game Informer ran a recent article on their first hands-on with CoD4 and inferred that Infinity Ward didn’t seem to acknowledge Call of Duty 3 as part of the series. Apparently, the executable file that I.W. ran for their demo that day was named “COD3.exe”

Or maybe I’m reading too much into this one…

Progress on Achievements

I recently had a conversation with a good friend of mine kbl66 and he brought up a point that I thought was worth sharing.

Many of today’s games include Achievements based on accomplishing a certain number of tasks (i.e. Kill 1000 monsters with the ‘Odor of Breath’ spell) yet they neglect to include any way of viewing your own progress in reaching that goal.

Obviously the game keeps track of these stats, but should it provide a means for the player to view them? I’m going to have to side with my buddy in saying that yes it should.

Any thoughts??

Whatcha’ playin?

I thought I might start off with something simple and ask what everyone was currently playing. Summertime has historically been the worst time for new game titles so I’m curious if anyone has come across a gem or if everyone has been spending time in their archives.

For me it’s been Forza Motorsport 2 (Awesome!), Spider-Man 3 (disappointing), Tenchu Z (not sure yet, but leaning towards not too great) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (surprisingly better than I expected).
