Attending PAX?

If you’re like me and didn’t attend this year’s Comic-Con event, all hope is not lost. The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) which runs August 24th through August 26th promises to be a stellar event with games-a-plenty on hand for both console and PC platforms. Another cool aspect of this event is the fact that they also show much love for board game fans – an area typically ignored at most gaming shows.

While E3 has evolved into primarily a press event, PAX is all about community. The event offers everyday gamers the chance to chat-up representatives from a variety of game publishers and developers, participate in tournaments and get some quality hands-on time with upcoming games.

The guys over at Gamerscoreblog talked about Microsoft’s participation in this year’s event in their latest Gamerscore Blogcast. It’s obvious by listening to the show that they’re really looking forward to getting together with the community in what should be a less formal event than E3.

Unfortunately, I won’t be attending this event either due to the fact that I’m on the east coast and I just can’t afford to make the trip right now, however I’d love to hear from those who are planning to attend.
